07-04-2004 Max Mosley is telling fibs about why he's quitting. That's the claim of McLaren boss Ron Dennis who came under attack as not the 'sharpest knife in the box' by the FIA president at Magny-Cours on Friday. Mosley said he's fed-up with such dithering Formula One principals. He reckons one 'in particular' comes to FIA meetings with a 'manager man' who wastes time on frivolous detail but can't agree on the important fundamentals. But Dennis urged the media to look at what happened at the recent World Council meeting. ''Many things he said [in France],'' said Ron, ''weren't accurate.'' Indeed, at Paris' FIA World Council on Wednesday, Max Mosley's proposed and attempted reform of the world of 'go-karting' was vigorously defeated in a vote. Max laughs at the link between this and early-retirement. He admits that 'large numbers' of Council members didn't embrace his reform. ''I've heard suggestions it is something of significance,'' said the Briton. ''It isn't. It's a completely trivial matter.'' |
