07-24-2004 Jenson Button smelled the burning of engine-smoke and irony on Friday when a detonating Honda V10 ended a shot at maiden Formula One victory in Germany. Also on Friday, BAR and Honda announced a new three-year deal. ''It's very disappointing that I'll lose ten places [on the grid],'' he said. ''But you never know - I could still score points on Sunday.'' On the bright side, though, Button said the 006 was 'very strong' on long runs in practice. ''The only guy quicker,'' he claimed, ''is Michael [Schumacher]. ''I'd rather be quick in the runs than on a [single] lap.'' |
