Team SAUBER PETRONAS began a three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya today. Nick Heidfeld and Felipe Massa drove the new SAUBER PETRONAS C21s. Nick set the third fastest time of 1m 18.817s behind the two Ferraris, and covered 96 laps, while Felipe was sixth fastest on 1m 19.513s over 75 laps.

Willy Rampf (Technical director): "Our programme today centred mainly on further tyre testing for Bridgestone, and some aerodynamic work as we continue to establish the baseline for the new C21. We are very pleased with progress so far.

" Nick Heidfeld: "I had a trouble-free day and the car felt fantastic. It is more stable and has more grip than the C20, and everything we did with it today had a positive outcome. I am feeling very optimistic for the season ahead."

Felipe Massa: "I really enjoyed my second run in the C21, which continues to give me good feelings. We did some changes to the aerodynamic balance this afternoon and some differential set-up work, and the car proved really responsive."
