07-25-2004 Michael Schumacher is feeling better. The German turned-up at Hockenheim on Thursday with a bad cold but, also evidenced by a dominant pole for his home race, seems to have shrugged it off. ''It's ok,'' he said Saturday afternoon. ''It's much better. [Sunday] I'll be [even] better.'' Ferrari's ace did the quick lap when it mattered, but in pre-qualifying he was mid-field and in free practice seemed to be struggling with F2004's set-up. Michael hinted he didn't 'approach things properly' before final qualifying. Asked if he meant an imperfect approach 'mechanically,' 'mentally,' or 'physically,' the world champion said: ''Let's just leave it at that.'' * Was Ross Brawn playing games? Prior to qualifying, Ferrari's strategy whiz said Michael had 'no chance' of pole 'so we're going another way [for the race]. ''Michelin's first lap is better than [Bridgestone's].'' |
