Ralf Schumacher's knock-out Indy shunt was 'massively surprising.'

But not the blow-out or huge backwards 77G impact, according to GDPA director Mark Webber - the Australian is concerned Ralf sat unattended for so long.

FIA president Max Mosley admitted 100 seconds passed before a medical car arrived. ''All the right things were done,'' he insisted amid criticism.

'Correct response time' or not, though, Jaguar's Webber said one minute and forty seconds is a 'long, long time' considering Indy is short and contained.

He said: ''Sometimes twenty seconds is too long.

''I agree that spraying it about in public won't help and we'll sort it out. It's the first and last time it'll happen. Ralf is lucky he's basically well.''

* Mosley applauded America's track marshals for leaving Ralf alone after the impact. ''Rushing in there is probably the most dangerous thing you can do.''
