'standard electronics' in Formula One - Mosley 07-03-2004 Formula One won't mandate 'standard' electronics in '05 or '06. Revealing a revised blueprint for likely enforced new rules at Magny-Cours on Friday, Max Mosley admitted requiring FIA-approved ECUs 'may not be possible.' ''We'd like to do it for the new 2.4 [litre V8] formula,'' he said. But the retiring FIA president said it would be 'almost impossible' to convince the racing public and the Formula One press that clever teams aren't cheating. Mosley added: ''We've learned the lesson ... [from] traction control.'' Prior to regulations-freeing in 2001, there was a 'bad atmosphere' in the paddock because endless accusations of unfounded illegal systems flew about. ''We don't want that to happen again,'' said Max. * Renault's Jarno Trulli has recorded a television commercial for the United Nations. ''Every five seconds,'' said the Italian, ''a child dies of hunger.''
