2004 Michelin is 'ultra-competitive' at Magny-Cours. That's the claim of the marque's motor sport director Pierre Dupasquier who has put eight French-clad runners in the top-ten for Sunday's grand prix here. ''I'm not surprised,'' the Frenchman smiled on Saturday. ''Our advantage is not because we are French, but because we understand the track's subtleties really, really well. The trick is to find a compromise.'' Bridgestone's Hisao Suganuma, meanwhile - whose company supplies Ferrari - reckons his Magny-Cours spec tyre 'should go really well' over a long stint. * The last Renault pole-position in France was in 1984. ''It seems like it was yesterday,'' said the Dijon pole-getter Patrick Tambay (now a F1 commentator). |
