07-04- 2004 Mercedes-Benz are coming good, according to David Coulthard. The Scot's 'B spec' McLaren here at Magny-Cours also sports an evolved V10 engine. ''We have more power for this circuit,'' he confirmed on Saturday. Coulthard, third on the grid, claims engine partner Mercedes has made 'big steps' since the beginning of the season 'and some more [steps] are coming.' Team boss Ron Dennis added it 'would be wrong' to profess certain victories ''but we are trying to win. Let's get through Sunday and then think about it.'' Kimi Raikkonen (9th) made a mess of his qualifying action. But the Finn said it's 'obvious to everyone' the MP4-19B is faster than the old McLaren car. ''I feel very confident when driving it,'' the 24-year-old added. |
