09-26-2004 (GMM - Shanghai) Rubens Barrichello's second grand prix victory in succession came only after 56 laps of 'pressure,' the Brazilian driver insisted in Shanghai. ''Kimi (Raikkonen) was there in my mirrors for a long time,'' Rubens, who had put the Ferrari on pole, said. ''It was a lot of pressure but at the same time I kept cool and it was just 'push, push push'.'' Barrichello, whose wife was one of the first to congratulate him in parc ferme - as well as Luca di Montezemolo, Jean Todt and Michael Schumacher - said the toughest stint of the race was the last one. ''It was pretty tough at the end,'' he agreed. ''The (Bridgestone) tyres were really good, they held up well, but there was some graining at the end.'' Former world champion Jacques Villeneuve, returning to F1 in a Renault car, also gave Rubens a little scare as the winner tried to lap the French-Canadian. ''I guess he didn't see me, he was fighting someone else,'' said Barrichello. ''I lost a second or so (to Jenson Button), but I guess (Jacques) was concentrating on his battle.'' |
