07-09-2004 McLaren don't want Juan Pablo Montoya to be a David Coulthard. David, squeezed out Woking's door, is everything this Colombian is not - genial, polite, corporate- minded, yielding, communicative, contented, respectful ... Martin Whitmarsh said Montoya's qualities shape him and 'drive him on. ''It's what makes him passionate,'' said the team 'F1 CEO.' ''But he's smart enough he'll want to make himself better.'' Sir Frank Williams wanted to keep the 28-year-old on-board in '05 but a bust- up over the radio at Magny-Cours last season reportedly 'snapped' a JPM decision. Montoya called Sam Michael and his pitwall crew a 'bunch of w*ankers.' ''No Juan,'' the Australian replied. ''You're the only w*anker.'' Williams commented: ''He had the lectures from us, but in the end he's got to figure it out. That's the bridge he has to cross - to respect the challenge.'' |

| Montoya is happy with his driving. ''I push the car hard,'' he barked. ''What else should I do? Anyway I don't care. The only opinion I respect is my own.'' |
