David Coulthard is certain he'll still be a Formula One driver in '05.

The veteran Scot, who's set to make way for Juan Pablo Montoya in a McLaren he's driven for eight years, said 'there will be announcement in the [near] future.'

''I'm not the only one who decides,'' the 33-year-old smiled.

He said at Silverstone on a rainy Thursday afternoon: ''It depends on the other party so I don't suppose you should hold your breath. I hope it works out.''

DC said the question now is getting a deal 'finalised and announced.'

He also ruled-out becoming McLaren's '05 tester and said any race deal will be based on 'performance' rather than primarily considering the '[income] package.'

* McLaren unveiled a 'B spec' chassis at Magny-Cours but David said it was unlikely Ron Dennis' Woking team would try to build yet 'another car' in 2004.
