| DRIVERS STANDING |
07-09-2004 Ferrari is so quick it can afford to muck-up qualifying. That's what British rivals Jenson Button and David Coulthard said on Thursday. ''Quite often you see Michael [Schumacher] make a mistake,'' said the Scot. ''It would put another guy out of it but he still manages to win. ''I think it shows the strength of their package.'' Coulthard said he has driven quick McLarens like that before. ''You can't believe how slow you're driving,'' he added, ''and you're still pulling away. ''They're only going to trip up if they get caught-up on reliability.'' The F1 fraternity marvelled at Schu's winning four-stopper at Magny-Cours, but Button said the Ferrari is so quick 'it's hard to make a mistake on strategy. ''Four stops should not work. But for them it's easy.'' * Coulthard stomped-on speculation Ferrari are so quick they must be cheating. ''None of us think that,'' he insisted. ''It's got to be a tough business.'' |
