| DRIVERS STANDING |
07-04- 2004 Suddenly, Ferrari's advantage doesn't look so big. Magny-Cours' grid sees four manufacturers (Renault, Ferrari, McLaren, BAR) in the top-four positions. ''It's true,'' said second-placed Michael Schumacher. ''We've got McLaren and the BMW [Williams] car back with more competitive packages so everything is a lot closer. So the challenge will be interesting.'' * David Coulthard, in the third-placed 'B spec' McLaren car, admitted that the debuting machine might be 'significantly lighter (on fuel)' than anyone else. ''But I'd be surprised [if that was the case],'' the Scot quipped. ''[The race] is going to be a journey of discovery. We haven't done a consecutive-lap GP distance with this car yet - so we'll see how it goes.'' |
