FIA
needs a 'new president' - Jacques Regis 06-25-2004 Formula One's governing FIA needs a new President. That's the claim of French motor authority president Jacques Regis this week as he slammed incumbent Max Mosley as someone who 'does not consult' other members. ''I have the feeling I'm not alone in this,'' he told Autohebdo. Mosley's reign is up for grabs at the next elections in '05. Regis claims the Briton 'lives in a bubble,' making unilateral decisions. ''[The FIA] must defend the interests of the association of clubs,'' he said. Asked if he was preparing to challenge Mosley for the Presidency, Regis scotched such talk as ''too early. [But] Max Mosley needs to change his policies.'' Jacques has been a member of the FIA World Council for twelve years. ''I want to change [the policies],'' he asserted.
