A special TV programme will be produced to capture the thrills and spills of the Grand Finals to be aired over 8TV two weeks after the event.

The champion of the Grand Finals on the day will automatically win the Formula BMW test drive prize while another two will be selected from the 45 finalists for the other two slots to test the Formula BMW by a panel comprising Alex Yoong, PanGlobal Insurance Bhd.'s C.E.O., Edwin Wong and the owner of Team Meritus, Peter Thompson. The selection will be based upon combined criteria of racing skill, overall capability, future potential, current age and personality.

These additional two winners may come from any of the 45 grand finalists and not neccessary from the top three finishers and the selection will be announced after a series of interviews with a short list of the grand finalists after their performance in the Grand Finals.

PanGlobal's CEO, Edwin Wong welcomed the boost from the Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports and said, "The moral support that will be given by the Ministry of Youth & Sports through the presence of YB Datuk Ong Tee Keat's presence will go a long way to further encourage greater participation by brand new karters which is the concept of our F1 Driver Search. We are grateful to YB Datuk's endorsement and we look forward to many more years of supporting this novel event which is a good basis to develop motorsport from the grassroots up."

Alex Yoong praised the quality of the grand finalists by saying, "We have some very good newcomers with seriously good skills coming to the sport from the 45 finalists here. Anyone of the 45 runners can win the event. We are gratified that of the 45 finalists the average age is only 26.4 years while there are 20 finalists from 11 to 23 years of age. This is certainly a very good sign for the future of the sport in our country."

Entry for spectators to the Grand Finals is free and there are much more in store for that day at the Extreme Park as an international carnival of sports is also being organised by Extreme Park in the same weekend.
