Bernie
to 'fine' lazy drivers - report 07-11-2004 Formula One impresario Bernie Ecclestone is considering imposing 'fines' for drivers who don't do what the FIA asks, the 73-year-old said at Silverstone. The Briton claims drivers want to do 'as little as possible' for their money. ''[And team] sponsors let them get away with it,'' he told publication 'People.' ''As long as they do their appearances, everyone's happy.'' Ecclestone suggested the drivers are like animals in a circus ''so if they don't do their job - and it's their job to entertain - then we'll fine them. ''We don't ask very much of them.''
